How do I choose the correct power supply or LED driver?

Match the required output voltage or current, total wattage, dimming method and installation environment. The driver must be compatible with the connected lighting product.

What is the difference between an indoor and weatherproof power supply?

An indoor power supply is designed for dry, protected areas. A weatherproof power supply has a suitable IP rating and sealed construction for use in damp or outdoor locations.

How much spare capacity should an LED driver have?

Approximately 10 to 20 per cent spare capacity is commonly allowed above the connected load. This helps reduce heat and prevents the driver from operating continuously at its maximum rating.

How can I check whether an accessory is compatible with my fitting?

Compare the brand, model number, voltage, connector, dimensions, load range and control method. Accessories that look similar may not be electrically compatible.

Which lighting accessories require installation by an electrician?

Hardwired drivers, transformers, wall switches, dimmers, receivers, power points and mains-voltage accessories must be installed by a licensed electrician.
