Up/Down & Down Wall Lights

Indoor wall lights are commonly installed around 1.5 to 1.8 metres above the floor. The ideal height depends on the fitting design, ceiling height and whether the light is being used for decoration, reading or general lighting.

Wall lights can provide the main lighting when there are enough fittings with suitable output. However, they are more commonly combined with ceiling lights, pendants or lamps as part of a layered lighting plan.

Ambient lighting provides general illumination throughout a room. Accent lighting highlights artwork, textures or architectural features, while task lighting provides focused light for activities such as reading or applying makeup.

Warm white between 2700K and 3000K creates a softer atmosphere in bedrooms and living spaces. Neutral white around 4000K is better suited to practical areas and task lighting.

Hardwired wall lights must be installed by a licensed electrician. Plug-in wall lights can usually be connected to a standard power point without electrical installation.
