Timber Floor Lamps

Choose timber floor lamps based on the room, table or floor space, shade size, base material, globe type and the amount of light required. Lamps can be used for reading, bedside lighting, decorative ambience or adding warmth to a living space.

The right size depends on the furniture around it. A bedside lamp should sit comfortably on the table without overwhelming it, while a floor lamp should be tall enough to cast useful light. Check the height, width and shade diameter before ordering.

Check the lamp holder type, maximum wattage and recommended globe shape. Many lamps use E27 or B22 globes, but this varies by product. LED globes are a practical choice for everyday use, and decorative globes can work well where the globe is visible.

Some lamps include built-in dimmers, touch controls or step dimming, while others are controlled by the globe and switch. A standard lamp is not automatically dimmable unless it is designed for dimming or fitted with a compatible dimmable globe and control.

Fabric shades usually create a softer glow, glass can feel lighter and more decorative, ceramic adds texture, timber brings warmth and metal suits modern or industrial spaces. Choose a material that works with your furniture, wall colour and other finishes in the room.
