EasyUp - Safe & Easy Downlight Kit
The new EasyUp Downlight is a revolutionary lighting system that enables you to replace halogen downlight globes with your feet planted firmly and safely on the ground, eliminating the chance of ladder injuries and accidents from falls.
Magnets are used to hold the globe cradle in place. A magnetic extendable wand enables you to remove the failed globe and easily insert a new one.
The EasyUp Wand is a 3-part wand that extends to 2 metres (6'6") in length.
The unique heat dissipating body design of the EasyUp Downlight eliminates the need for any type of after market heat shield or hood. EasyUp lights have been thoroughly tested and easily exceed the Australian Safety Standard for downlights (AS/NZS 3000 Wiring Rules).
- Can I use the EasyUp Wand on existing downlights?
You can only use the EasyUp Wand in conjunction with the EasyUp downlight fixture. The unique feature of EasyUp is the embedded tiny but strong magnets that hold the globe cradle firmly in place. Traditional downlights do not have this feature.
EasyUp lights are as easy to install as a traditional downlight. It is recommended that a qualified electrician does the installation.
- How fast can I change downlights with EasyUp?
Once installed, anyone from 8 to 88 can then change the globe from the safety of the ground in about sixty seconds!
- What size globe does it take?
The EasyUp Downlights fit all standard Halogen MR16 (GU5.3) globes.
- What's better? LED vs Halogen?
Currently over 85% of all downlights being installed are still halogen. While LED may be an alternative in the future, the light they currently emit is 50% or less than those of halogen which means that you would need to install 2-2½ LED lights to get the same light intensity as one halogen light. Thus negating much of the energy savings often claimed by some LED manufacturers.
- How is the EasyUp System sold?
The EasyUp Downlight fittings and EasyUp Wand are sold separately.
